ISOCM Conference Proceedings Published
Joensuu, Finland - The proceedings from the Second International Conference on Orthodox Church Music, organized by the International Society for Orthodox Church Music (ISOCM), have been published, entitled "Composing and Chanting in the Orthodox Church." "This volume contains contributions from musicians and scholars from many countries," according to the Rev. Ivan Moody, ISOCM Board Chairman, "It makes accessible a broad range and great depth of informed and practical scholarship on significant aspects of the music of the Orthodox Church." The nearly 350 page volume includes 21 papers presented by participants from eleven countries during the Society's second international conference, held at the University of Joensuu, Finland, in June 2007. The Proceedings will be released to the general public during the Society's Third International Conference on Orthodox Church Music, which begins Monday 8 June, 2009.
