Ninth International Conference on Orthodox Church Music, exploring the theme of
“Church Music and Topography: City, Village, and Monastery.”

Call for Papers
The call for papers for the Ninth International Conference on Orthodox Church Music was open until 31 January 2021.
The organizers invite proposals for presentations dealing with different aspects of the general theme: “Church Music and Topography: City, Village, and Monastery.”
Possible topics or areas of exploration include:

local traditions and transmissions

spatiality in music and hymnography
-
topographical hymnography
-
centre and periphery
-
travel and pilgrimage
-
cities and the City (Constantinople)
The programme also allows for free papers.
Submission of abstracts
If you are interested in

giving a presentation of 20 minutes or
-
presenting a poster,
please submit an abstract of 250 words by 31 January 2021 using our online abstract submission form.
The language of the conference is English.
Articles based on the works presented in the conference will be published in the Journal of the ISOCM. It is expected that all presenters submit their papers either for the section of peer-reviewed articles or for the section of conference papers in time for the publication process.
